1. Acceptance of Terms

By using I Got Dibs! (the "Service"), operated by Block Heist LLC, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

I Got Dibs! is a neighborhood game where households compete to "steal" a seasonal mascot by scanning NFC tags. The Service includes a mobile app, web app, and marketing website.

3. Account Registration

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
  • You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
  • One person may manage multiple households (primary, vacation, guest residences).

4. Game Rules and Conduct

  • Play fair. Do not tamper with, clone, or damage NFC tags. Parents must teach children to unplug an inflatable at the plug and release anchors before carrying it. Never pull or run with a connected cord. A stuffed animal is also a valid mascot.
  • Respect cooldown periods. The system enforces them automatically.
  • Do not trespass or violate local laws while playing the game.
  • Neighborhood commissioners may ban households that violate game rules.
  • Seasons may be cancelled before starting or within 24 hours of their scheduled start to release their kit for a new season. After that window, contact support; reuse requires an administrator-approved exception. Cancelling a season or approving tag reuse does not automatically refund a purchase.

5. NFC Tags and Kits

  • Each season kit includes three NFC tags: one primary and two backups, plus setup instructions. A mascot is not included. Scan all three tags before your season starts.
  • Tags must be kept accessible to all players in the neighborhood during an active season.
  • Deliberately hiding, destroying, or removing a tag from play during an active season is a violation of game rules.
  • The commissioner can switch to either registered backup if the active tag is lost or damaged. Only one tag is active at a time. A kit supports one season; backups do not grant additional seasons.

6. Purchases and Payments

  • All payments are processed securely through Stripe.
  • Prices are in USD and include the game kit with NFC tags.
  • Standard US shipping is included in the season kit price. Any applicable taxes are shown at checkout.

7. Intellectual Property

The I Got Dibs! name, logo, mascot designs, and app are owned by Arigato Labs LLC. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

8. Limitation of Liability

I Got Dibs! is a game for entertainment purposes. Arigato Labs LLC is not responsible for:
  • Injuries, property damage, or disputes arising from gameplay.
  • Lost, stolen, or damaged NFC tags after delivery.
  • Service interruptions or data loss.
Play responsibly and respect your neighbors.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
